Our improvisation courses provide participants with an opportunity to develop their creativity, teamwork skills, and communication abilities in a fun and relaxed way. The courses focus on enhancing interaction and self-expression, as well as increasing confidence, whether you're performing or navigating everyday communication situations. Improvisation exercises strengthen presence, flexibility, and trust, making them perfect for both individuals and teams.

The Heavenly Gates Are Open Again!

Improv Heaven 2025

The gates of Heaven are open again from June 9th to 13th in the charming Mathildedal ironworks village!

Come join us to grow the wings of your improv angel at the ever-amazing Improtaivas improv camp this June! Guiding this sky are the gentle Hannu Risku, the soft-spoken guru of musical improv, and Simo Routarinne, the kind old master of improvisation. This is, without a doubt, the improv course for improv courses!

Heavenly Program

This summer's theme is status behavior! How can status expression be used to create characters, stories, music, and movement? Find out next June!

Expect improv and music from morning until night, jamming by the campfire, frolicking in the lake and sea, and sauna sessions in several different saunas! Everyone is welcome to participate in the Thursday evening Heavenly Gala performance at the nostalgic stage of Mathildedalin Workers’ Hall! Over the past 10 years, Improtaivas has hosted both beginners and seasoned pros in perfect harmony, so come boldly join us!

The course program is also partially shaped organically by the needs and wishes of the participants — you can choose whether you'd like to actively participate in the Thursday night performance or simply enjoy it as an audience member! There will also be time to explore the peaceful Mathildedal ironworks village and wander in the nearby nature reserve as per your preferences.

Registration is available until the end of May through Eventbrite, if spots remain. Registration is binding, and the camp spot cannot be cancelled, but it can be transferred to another person. Prices include VAT.

Accomondation

Accommodation Options:

Free camping at the Matilda camping area with your own tent.
Matilda Hall offers "gym hall accommodation," where you can stay with your own sleeping gear. The building has water toilets and you can wash at the lakeside sauna or in the lake itself.
There are also two cottages available at Matildanjärven Cottages, where you can stay for a very affordable price. Showers are available on-site.
If you prefer 1-2 person cabin accommodation in Matilda village, the price is 40€ per night. There are 3 cabins available.
You can also arrange your own accommodation.

Food for soul and body too!

About eating

Matilda House has a well-equipped kitchen and several refrigerators, where we can prepare breakfasts and, if desired, other meals together. Additionally, there are several restaurants and cafés in the village, and we can also order takeaway lunches, for example, from Teijon Arkki lunch restaurant at an affordable price. The nearest grocery store is 5 km away in Teijo, and also Perniö's S-market is a 15-minute drive away.
